Sashimi Showdown

ARE YOU HUNGRY? I AM!!

Hey everyone, Nicole here with the inside scoop on sushi. So if you haven't already noticed sushi is quickly becoming the new food trend and I wanted to help YOU choose the best of the best. I'm here with a couple reviews on two of my favourite sushi restaurants!!

This weekend I went to Teriyaki House. A little sushi joint in Whitby. First off, if you're coming here with a first time sushi eater, this place is great. The entrance is welcoming and cozy; the only thing that maaaaay slightly off put your sushi noob is the fact that their sashimi a.k.a raw slabs of salmon is displayed in a glass case for everyone to see.

Anyways! On to the fun part, the FOOOOOD!!!!

The food here is delicious. I usually go in for lunch time because they have a special of $11.99 for all you can eat! The sushi is neatly prepared and comes to your table quick! My favourite sushi roll to order is the "spicy dynamite" -- basically a deep fried shrimp wrapped in rice, seaweed, avocado etc.
Most sushi restaurants have pretty similar menus but one big pro for me is that Teriyaki House switches it up a bit!! I was super excited to see that they had a bunch of new exciting ice cream flavours on their dessert menu. Usually on sushi all you can eat menus the ice cream flavours are pretty limited to Green Tea, Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Mango. At Teriyaki House they had Coconut, Ginger and Tempura! I went for the Coconut flavour and I have no regrets it was awesome! Not only did the ice cream actually taste like coconuts but it actually had some coconut chunks in it! I'd definitely recommend for coconut lovers.

DYNAMITE ROLLS!! DROOLING!!

STAFF:
The food is great but to be honest I feel like the staff could learn a thing or two about manners...My friends and I had asked the waitress for some napkins and she didn't hear...about five times....but that's not what i'm complaining about. I totally get it if you don't understand me and need me to repeat a couple times but you should probably say "pardon?" instead of HUH??? HUHHH???? and giving a frustrated look..wasn't too pleased about that but besides that my experience at Teriyaki House was excellent!

FOR THE GLITZ 'N' GLAM SUSHI LOVERS!!!

Dragon Rolls restaurant in Pickering. All I have to say is COOOOOLLLLL!!! If you want to feel like you're eating sushi in 2050 GO HERE!! You order your sushi off an iPad! AND even COOLER you don't even need to call your waitress over. I don't know how but somehow someway they have a sensor or SOMETHING!! But you just place your iPad at the end of the table and they come racing for it and send your order in ....I was personally blown away by this and was very impressed. OH! Also, a bonus about Dragon Rolls, not only are they a Japanese restaurant but they are a Thai restaurant as well!

Ordering off the iPad!
Basically everything I have to say about this restaurant is positive. 5 stars. 500 stars. 5000 stars. I'd definitely recommend it as an awesome place to impress your relatives from Timbuktu. The sushi is excellent, the staff is polite, the entire restaurant is clean, polished and very modern looking. Dragon Rolls is one of my favourite sushi restaurants.

WHAT YOU NEED TO ORDER: Dragon Roll's specialty...The Dragon Roll. They make their sushi look like a dragon. The end. That's all you need to know. Your welcome.

KA-BLAM!! DRAGON ROLL!! COOL OR COOL?

Until next time my sushi lovers!!
